RESOLUTION 1110. 5397
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THOMASON MECHANICAL CORPORATION AND THE
CITY OF VERNON TO PROVIDE EXPERT SERVICES
TO INSTALL TWO 57l-K GAS TURBINE GENERATORS
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has approved a project which
includes the purchase of two Allison 57l-K gas turbine/generators
and associated equipment to be installed and in operation on ap-
proximately October 1, 1987, at the Vernon Power Plant, which are

intended to be used to satisfy the peak electricity needs of the
City of Vernon: and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon requires the services of an
expert to install the two 57l-K gas turbine/generators for said
project: and

WHEREAS,
Thomason
Mechanical
Corporation
has
demonstrated its unique abilities by their successful rehabilita-
tion of Diesel Engine Nos. 1 through 5 at the Vernon Power Plant:
and
WHEREAS, Thomason Mechanical Corporation is experienced
in the installation and repair of gas turbine/generators: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
to enter into an Agreement for the installation of the two 57l-K
gas turbine/generators with the Thomason Mechanical Corporation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
determines
the
recitals
contained
finds
that
hereby
and

1 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
3 hereby approves the Agreement, a copy of which has been presented
4 to the City Council concurrently with this resolution and the
5
City Council hereby orders said Proposal to be received and filed
6 by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
9 Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
