A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN TaE CITY OF VERNON AND THE
DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND POWER OF THE CITY
OF LOS ANGELES FOR PALO VERDE NUCLEAR
GENERATING STATION TRANSMISSION SERVICE
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution 4852 on November 3, 1981, which approved and
authorized the execution of the palO Verde Nuclear Generating

Station ("PVNGS") Transmission Service Agreement between the City

of VernOn and the Department of Water and Power O,fthe City ,of
11

Los AngeleS (hereinafter "Parties"): and
WHEREAS, the Parties entered into said Agreement dated
13
December 10, 1981: and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution 5246 on January 28, 1986, which approved and
authorized the, execution of an Amendment No. 1 to, the PVNGS
17
Transmission Service Agreement between the parties to allow for
18
19

the various purchasers to make use of one billing agent, for all
cities, resulting in only one scheduling and dispatching fee, as
well as providing transmission service when purchaser makes al-
21

ternate purchases in the event of a sustained outage at the
PVNGS: and
WHEREAS, the original agreement provided for the City of
Riverside, under a separate agreement,
to act as billing agent
for the Cities of Azusa,
Banning,
Colton and Vernon:
however,

separate agreement was not completed and Vernon proceeded

1 aloner and,

WHEREAS, the Parties wish to amend said Agreement to
a correct the agreement to conform with actUal practice.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL' OF
5 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
7 hereby finds and determines that the recitals cont.ained
8 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
10 hereby approves the Amendment No. 1 to the PVNGS Transmission
11 Service Agreement, a copy of which has been presented to the City
12 council concurrently with this resolution and the City Council
13 hereby orders said Amendment to be received and filed by the City
14 Clerk.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of ,Vernon
16 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
17 Amendment for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
