RESOLUTION NO. 5425
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING EXHIBIT "A", SCHEDULE II,
PAGE 12 OF RESOLUTION NO. 5405 WHICH FIXED
THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EM~LOYEES OF
SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE
ALLOWANCES
WHEREAS, Resolution No.. 5405 was adopted by the City

Council of the City of Vernon on June 30, 1987, to be

on July 1, 1987r and
WHEREAS, Exhibit "A", Schedule II, page 12 of Resolution
No. 5405 provides for the position and salary scale of police of-
ficers and sergeants in the Vernon Police Departmentrand
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5312 on September 2, 1986, which approved a
Memorandum.of Understanding dated August 31, 1986, by and between
the Municipal Employee Relations Representative of the City of
Vernon and the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit Associationr and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2 of the Memorandum
of Understanding, the City of Vernon has conducted the ap-
propriate survey and performed the calculations required to
determine the necessary adjustrnentsr and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon intends
to establish a new salary scale for the positions of Police Of-
ficers I and II and Sergeants in the Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained

hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That Exhibit" A", Schedule II,
Resolution 5405, is hereby amended to establish a new salary
scale for the' positions of Police Officers I and II and Sergeants
in the Vernon Police Department, effective September 1,
the Page 12 which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by
this reference as though fully set forth at length is substitutea
for the previous Page 12 of Schedule II, Exhibit "All of Resolu"
tion No. 5405.
SECTION 3: That in all other respects, Resolution No.
5405 shall remain in full force and effect and the provisions in
ReSOlution No. 5405 not consistent with or in conflict with this
Resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and ef-
fect.
