A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 475 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BID FOR WATER MAIN INSTALLATION (ALLEY -
EAST OF SANTA FE AVENUE FROM 52ND STREET TO
57TH STREET) IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO.
475 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the
City of Vernon Contract No. 475 for Water Main Installation (Alley

East of Santa Fe Avenue From 52nd Street to 57th Street), in
10

accordance with Contract 475 of the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
12

that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State
14
law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECT.TQN 1: Contract No. 475 is hereby approved by the City
Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 475.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed proposals .or
bids for Water Main Installation (Alley - East of Santa Fe Avenue
From 52nd Street to 57th Street), in accordance with Contract No.
475 and in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circulation

printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City
3
Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause the same
4
to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of
5 Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe
6
Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific
7
Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall
8
of the City of Vernon, located at 43~5 Santa Fe Avenue, in said
City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to post said notice forthwith and the first posting of
12
said notice shall not be less than ten (l~) days before the
13
opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said notice shall
provide that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the
City of Vernon at the office of the city Clerk of the City, at
the City Hall, 43~5 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 9~~58~~8~5, until
the hour of 2:~~ p.m. on the 22nd day of September, 1987, and in

accordance with Contract No. 475 approved by said City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
