RESOLUTION lIO. 5428
A ~SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A 1987-1988 IN-LIEU REPLENISHMENT
AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON
AND THE CENTRAL AND WEST BASIN WATER
REPLENISHMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Central Basin Municipal Water District is a
agency of the Metropolitan Water Districtr and
WHEREAS, the Central and West Basin Water Replenishment
District was formed to carry out replenishment functionsr and

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon purchases water 'from the
Central Basin Municipal Water Districtr and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District has adopted .a
13 program whereby "water producers" of member agencies may purchase
14 water on a restricted basis during specific months at an .. in-
15 lieu" replenishment rater and
16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
17 Resolution No. 5305 on August 5, 1986, whiCh approved the execu-
18 tion of the 1986-1987 In-Lieu Replenishment Agreementr and
19
WHEREAS,
Bruce
V.
Malkenhorst,
the
City
20 Administrator/city Clerk, has recommended that the City Council
21 approve the 1987-1988 In-Lieu Replenishment agreement by letter
22 dated September 3, 1987.
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
24 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
25 SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26 hereby approves the 1987-1988 In-Lieu Replenishment Agreement, a
27 copy of which has been presented to the City Council concurrently

with this Resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said
Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3:
That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September, 1987.
