RESOLUTION NO. 5432

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF BARRON AND
ECKHART ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS FOR 6" HIGH
PRESSURE MAIN IN 50TH STREET BETWEEN DOWNEY
ROAD AND DIESEL PLANT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 483 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

WHEREAS, Contract No. 483 of the City of Vernon was ap-

proved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
8
Resolution No. 5432, and sealed bids were opened on September
9
22, 1987; and

WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Lewis R. Adams,
Director of Water & Power, who has reported to the City Council
12
under the date of October 13, 1987, recommending that the
13
contract for 6" High Pressure Main in 50th Street Between
14
Downey Road and Diesel Plant be executed with Barron and Eckhart
15
16
Engineering Contractors on the basis of its bid in the sum of
Two Hundred Forty Three Thousand Six Hundred Forty Eight Dollars
17
and no cents ($243,648.00), being the lowest responsible bid
18
meeting the contract requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
20
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
22
hereby award Contract No. 483 in accordance with the. recommenda-
23
tion of Lewis R. Adams, Director of Water & Power, and authorizes
24
the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
27
any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon the
28

1 receipt of an executed contract from Barron & Eckhart
2 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
5 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
6 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of October, 1987.
