RESOLUTION NO. 5438
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON RENAMING A CERTAIN STREET WITHIN THE
CITY OF VERNON TO PREVENT CONFUSION
WHEREAS, Victor H. Vaits, the Director of Community
Services, has advised the City Council by letter dated October
14, 1987, that there are two streets within the City of Vernon
which have the same name: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
to correct this oversight to assist the public as well as the

.United States Post Office and other agencies in identifying these

streets without confusion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby establishes that the street east of Maywood Avenue running
from District to Fruitland be called Everett Avenue.
SECTION 2: Tha~ the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby renames the street just east of Everett Avenue, running
from 49th Street to Fruitland Avenue, as Everett Court in accord-
ance with the description which is attached hereto and made a
part hereof as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 3: That the Mayor of the City Council is hereby
authorized to execute any documents necessary to implement this
change.
SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
