RESOLUTIOH 110. 5453
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ADOPTING THE GENERAL PLAN FOR THE
CITY OF VERNON AND THE VARIOUS ELEMENTS
INCLUDED THEREIN AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS
IN CONFLICT THEREWITH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon held a
public hearing during its regularly scheduled City Council meet-
ing on December 15, 1987, to consider the proposed General Planr
and
WHEREAS, the Ci ty Clerk gave the required notice for
said hearing for the purpose of considering the adoption of said
General Plan at which said public hearing said Plan was dis-
played, discussed and explained: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon did
14 review the impact that said General Plan would have on the en-

vironment as well as all significant environmental comments, and
that the Community Services Department complied for purposes of
notice with the State and City guidelines and California Environ-
mental Quality Act: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon gave
notice on November 3, 1987, that it intended to adopt a Negative
Declaration pertaining to the adoption of the General Plan: and
WHEREAS, the public hearing was closed and all of the
comments and reports were submitted as evidence to be considered
by the City Council in considering the adoption of the General
Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon pur-
suant to Chapter 3, Title 7 of the Government Code of the State
of California, does hereby approve and adopt as the General Plan
of the City of Vernon the land use, circulation, housing, etc.
and Negative Declaration covering the principles, objectives and
standards used to develop the City of Vernon as more fully
described in said General Plan that is attached hereto and incor-
porated herein by this reference as though fully set forth at
length.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon, pur-
suant to State and local guidelines and the California Environ-
mental Quality Act, does hereby certify that it has reviewed and
considered the information submitted to it and has determined
that a Negative Declaration has been completed in compliance with
State guidelines and the California Environmental Quality Act.
SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby find and determine that the public interest, convenience
and necessity require that said General Plan be adopted as
amended covering the objections, principles and standards used as
guidelines to develop the City as specified in Article 5 of the
Government Code of the State of California, Section 65300, et
seq.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of December, 1987.
