RESOLUTION NO. 5470
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 486 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION,
SANTA FE AVENUE AND 28th STREET, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 486 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City
Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 486 for Traffic
Signal Installation, Santa Fe Avenue and 28th Street, in
accordance with Contract 486 of the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
of Vernon that said contract be awarded in accordance with
applicable State law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Contract No. 486 is hereby approved
by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to file dn his office at the City Hal1
of the City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 486.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
sealed proposals or bids for Traffic Signal Installation,
Santa Fe Avenue and 28th Street, in accordance with Contract
No. 486 and in accordance with this resolution.
SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general
circulation printed, published or circulated in the City
of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said

1 notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the
2 most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the north-
west corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the north-
east corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and
on the bul:etin board in the lobby of the City Hal1 of the
City of Vernon, loca~ed at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said
City.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
first posting of said notice shal1 not be less than ten
(10) days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hal1,
4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour
of 2:00 p.m. on the 1st day of March, 1988, and in accordance
with Contract No. 486 approved by said City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1988.

being Resolution No. 5470, was duly adopted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon, and was approved by the Mayor
of said City at a regular meeting of the City Council held
on Tuesday, February 16, 1988.
