A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 491 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS_. FOR WATER MAIN INSTALLATION IN BANDINI
BLVD. (BETWEEN DOWNEY RD. & INDIANA ST.)
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 491 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
the City of Vernon Contract No. 491 for Water Main Installation
8
in Bandini Blvd. (Between Downey Rd. & Indiana st.), in
accordance with Contract No. 491 of the City of Vernon; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that. it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State
law.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF VERNON AS~FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Contract No. 491 is hereby approved by the City
Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby

directed to file in his office at the City Hal1 of the City of
20

Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 491.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
22
directed to give notice, in writing, inviting, sealed proposals or
23
bids for Water Main Instal1ation in Bandini Blvd.(Between Downey
24

Rd. & Indiana-St.), in accordance with Contract No. 491 and in
accordance with thisresolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circulation
2 printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City
3 Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause the same
4 to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of
5 Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe
6 Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific
7 Boulevard,and on the bul1etinboard in the lobby of the city
8 HaIl of the City of Vernon, 10cated at. 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in
9 said City.

.. SECTION 5: The City Clerk of. the City of Vernon is hereby
11 directed to post said notice forthwith and the first posting of
12 said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days before the
13 opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said notice shal1
14 provide that sealed proposalsor bids wil1 b~ received by the
15 City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk of the City, at
16 the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058...0805, until
17 the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 1st day of March, 1988, and in
18 accordance with Contract No. 491 approved by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
20 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
21 thereafter the same shal1 be in full force and effect.
22 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1988.
