RESOLUTION NO. 5482
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ESTABLISHING HEALTH AND PERMIT FEES
APPLICABLE TO ALL PERMITS GRANTED BY THE CITY
OF VERNON PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 11.25, 13.7 AND
13.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE AND REPEALING
RESOLUTION NO. 5262
WHEREAS, the Vernon City Code and, in particular, Sec-
tions 11.25, 13.7 and 13.31 thereof, provides for the issuance o.f
health permits7 and
WHEREAS, Sections 11.25, 13.8 and 13.34 of the Vernon
City Code provides that the City Council of the City of Vernon
shall establish, by resolution, health permit inspection fees for
the various types of businesses and vehi.clesrequiring health
permits 7 and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5262 on March 18, 1986, establishing health permit
fees in accordance with said Code 7 and
WHEREAS, said fees established by resolution are hereby
determined to be inadequate 7 and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon intends
to establish new fees as set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the.. City of Vernon

fees for permits granted by the City of Vernon, pursuant to Sec-
tion 13.7 of the Vernon City Code are as fol1ows:

*The $82 business fee does not apply to a company operatiing
offal vehicle(s) in conjunction with and as a part of a Vernon
permitted Rendering Plant or Food Processing Establishment.
SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby establish that the issuance fees, annual renewal fees
and late fee penalties for health permit inspections granted by
the City of Vernon pursuant to section 11.25 of the Vernon City
Code are asfollows:
(a) For Wholesale Food Vehicle - $23 per vehicle: and
(b) There shall be added to and collected with the
health permit inspection fee a penalty equal to ten percent (10%)
of the fee for all fees that are delinquent for thirty (313) days.
For each additional month or fraction thereof in which the delin-
quency continues, an additional ten percent (113%) penalty shal1
be collected. In no event shall the total penalty exceed sixty
percent (613%) of the health permit inspection fee.
SECTION 4: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby establish that the issuance fees, annual renewal

fees, and latefee penalties for health permit inspections
granted by the City of Vernon pursuant to Section 13.34 of the
Vernon City Code are as follows:
(a) Underground Hazardous Substances Storage
Facility - $173 for five (5) years:
(b) Annual Tank Operating Permit - $39 per tank
(not to exceed $195 per facility):
(c) Transfer of Operating Permit - $57:
(d) Amend an Operating Permit - $29:
(e) There shall be added to and collected with the per-
mit or other fee a penalty equal to ten percent (l"%)of the fee
for all fees that are delinquent for thirty (3") days. For each
additional month or fraction thereof in which the delinquency
continues, an additional ten percent (l"%) penalty shall be col-
lected. In no event shall the total penalty exceed sixty percent
(6"%) of the permit fee.
SECTION 5: That in addition to the foregoing, the
licensee or permittee shall pay all other necessary fees or
deposits which may be required by other ordinances or resolutions
of the City of Vernon or applicable State laws in effect.
SECTION 6: That the fees provided for herein shall be
effective April 1, 1988, and that Resolution No. 5262 and al1
other resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
