RESOLUTION NO. 5483
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE
CITY CLERK'S DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION
2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
letter dated February 11, 1988, recommended to the City Council
that the property from the Police Department, more particularly
described on the attached Exhibit "All, which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof,
and the City Clerk's Department, more
particularly described on the attached Exhibit "B", which is at-
tached hereto and made a part hereof,
is surplus to the needs of
the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, outdated and in
poor and irreparable condition and are therefor no 10nger useful
to the needs of the City of Vernon: and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
recommended that the said surplus property described in the at-
tached Exhibits IIAII and IIBII be disposed of by public auction: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that the property described in the attached Exhibits II All and IIBII
from the Police Department and the City Clerk's Department be
sold as surplus pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of

the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
described in the attached Exhibits "A" and liB" are surplus to the
needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
hereby authorized to contract with an auction company for the
sale of the property described in the attached Exhibits "A" and
IIBII as surplus property.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shal1 be in fu11 rorce and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1988.
