A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION
2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
6 letter dated February 11, 1988, recommended to the City Council
7
that
one Mili tary 30 year old Generator at Fire Station 3 is
8 surplus to the needs of the Fire Department as said item is in
9 poor condition and is no longer useful to the needs of the City
10 of Vernon: and
11 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
12 recommended that the said surplus property be disposed of pur-
13 suant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code: and
14 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
15 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
16 that the Military 30 year old Generator be sold as surplus pur-
17 suant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the Military
30 year old Generator at Fire Station 3 is surplus to the needs
of the Fire Department of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
hereby authorized to obtain bids pursuant to Section 2.31 of the
Vernon City Code for the sale of the Military 30 year old

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shal1
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1988.
