A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY FROM THE LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY
CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
6 letter dated March 2, 1988, recommended to the Finance Committee
7 that the property from the Light and Power Department,' more par...
8 ticularly described on the attached Exhibit "A"" which is at-

tached hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus to the needs of
the City of Vernon as said items are in "scrap" condition and are
therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon: and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
recommended t~at the said surplus property described in the at-
tached Exhibit "A" be disposed of pursuant to Section 2.31 of the
VerQon City Code: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that the property described in the attached Exhibit "A" from the
Light and Power Department be sold as surplus pursuant to Section
2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
described in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of
the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2:
That the City Administrator/CityClerk is
2 hereby authorized to obtain bids pursuant to Section 2.31 of the
3 Vernon City Code for the sale of the property described in the
4 attached Exhibit "A" as surplus property.

SECTION. 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
7 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. r
8 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of March, 1988.
