A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING SECTION 13 BY ADDI!\iG A
NEW SUBSECTION (e) TO RESOLUTION NO. 5405,
WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION.FOR CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED
CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 54"5 was adopted by the City
7 Council of the City of Vernon on June 3", 1987, whieh fixed the
8 positions and compensation of city employees effective July 1,
9 1987: and

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 54"5 was previously amended. by
11 ResolUtion Nos. 5425 (adopted On September 8, 1987): 5436

1987 >: 5444 (adopted on November 17, 1987)15480 (adopted on

and
WHEREAS, the City C()uncil Of the City of Vernon approved
a maternity leave policy on July 7, 1981, which WaS amended on
March 15, 1988: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
"
to incorporate its maternity leave policy into the salaryresolu-
tion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernpn
25 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
26 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council Of the City of Vernon

1 hereby amends Section 13 of Resolution No. 5405 'by adding$ubsec-
2 tion (e) to said Section as follows:

(e) That a maternity leave program is est.ablished at
4 six (6) weeks for female employees
Probationary emp'16yees:'"
5 shall not be entitled t.o mat.ernit.y leave with pay. pr,obat.fonary
6 employees on maternity leave may use any compensat.ory ()t'vacatioD;
7 time accrued, if any 7 the remainder of the time shall be t.reat:~d
8 as leave without pay.

SECTION 3: That in all other respects, Resolution No.
10 54e5, as amended by Resolution Nos. 5425, 5436, 5439, 5444, 548e,
11 54ge and 5497 shall remain in full force And effect, and the
12 provisions contained in said resolutions not consistent with or
13 in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
15 certify to the passage of this resolution and , thereupon and
16 thereafter the same shall be in full force and'effect.
