RESOLUTION NO. 5585
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING SECTION 1 AND APPENDIX NO.
1 OF RESOLUTION NO. 4733, AS AMENDED BY
RESOLUTION NOS. 5255 AND 5478, WHICH ADOPTED
CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODES THAT INCORPORATED
BY REFERENCE THE STANDARD MODEL CONFLICT OF
INTEREST CODE OF THE FAIR POLITICAL PRACTICES
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 4733 on June 17, 1980, which adopted Conflict of
Interest Codes 'that incorporated by 'reference the standard. model
Conflict of Interest Code of the Fair Political Practices
Commission: and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5255 on March 18, 1986, which amended certain sec-
tions of Resolution No. 4733: and
WHEREAS, the City Council o( the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5478 on March 15, 1988, which amended Appendix No.
1 of Resolution No. 4733: and
WHEREAS, under the City I S present conflict of interest
code the City Attorney is a designated employee required to
report financial interest under designated disclosure categories:
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an amendment to the Political
Reform Act, City Attorneys are now required to file a Statement
of Economic Interests under Government Code Section 87200 with
the Fair Political Practices Commission: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
to amend its cohflict of interest code to delete the City Attor-

ney position as a des.ignated employee required to report finan-
cial interest under designated disclosure categories to avoid
confusion as the City Attorney position is now required to filea
Statement of Economic Interests as a public official.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
6 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That Appendix No. 1 of Resolution No. 4733,
as amended by Resolution Nos. 5255 and 5478, shall be amended as
set forth in the Appendix No.1 which is attached hereto and made
,
a part hereof as though fully set forth at length.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
12 hereby amends Section 1 of Resolution No. 4733 to read as

SECTION 1: ,The terms of 2Cal. Adm. Code Section
18730 and any amendments to it duly adopted by the Fair Political
Practices Commission along with the attached Appendices in which
officials and employees are designated and disclosure categories
are set forth, are hereby incorporated by reference and con-
stitute the Conflict of Interest Codes of the following depart-
ment and agencies:
City Administrator/City Clerk Department
Department of Community Services
Fire Department
Police Department
Water Department
L~ht and Power Department
SECTION. 3: That in all other respects, Resolution Nos.

4733, 5255 and 5478 shal1 remain in full force and effect and
that provisions in Resolution Nos. 4733, 5255 and 5478 not con-
sistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution and
feet.
