A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY FROM THE LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
7 letter da.ted April 5, 1988, recommended to the Finance Committee
8 tha.t the scrap metal property from the Light and Power Department
9 more particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A", which is
10 attached hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus to the needs
of the City of Vernon: and

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
13 recommended that the said surplus property be disposed of pur-
suant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code: and
14

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
16
17 that the property set forth above be sold as surplus pursuant to
Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
22
23 theCitYio:f Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
described in the atta~hed Exhibit "A" are surplus to the needs of
24
the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2 :
That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
hereby authorized to obtain bids pursuant to Section 2.31 of the
27
Vernon City Code :for the sale of the aforementioned property as

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of April, 1988.
