RESOLUTION NO. ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT TO SUPERIOR ASSEMBLY AND DISTRIBUTION,
INC. FOR THE OPERATION OF A TRUCK TERMINAL
AT 5525 SANTA FE AVENUE IN THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Superior Assembly and Distribution,
Inc. has applied for a conditional use permit to operate a
truck terminal at 5525 Santa Fe Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
held a hearing on said application for a conditional use
permit on April 26,1988; and
WHEREAS, the proposed use is anon conforming
use which may be continued pursuant to Section 4.4.1 of
the Interim Zoning Ordinance as adopted on April 5, 1988;
and
WHEREAS, the proposed site has been continuously
used as a truck terminal and required a conditional use
permit under the Zoning Code which was in effect at the
time the application was filed; and
WHEREAS, the proposed site is approximately 4.61
acres and is of adequate size and shape for the proposed
operation; and
WHEREAS, the proposed site is surrounded by in-
dustrial uses compatible with the proposed use and no ad-
verse noise, odor, dust, smoke, light or glare, or risk of
fire, infection or explosion is anticipated from the

proposed operation; and
WHEREAS, the site has access to 55th Street
(60 ft. wide) which is of adequate size and construction
to handle the existing traffic generated from the proposed
operation; and
WHEREAS, There are no conditions imposed by
State or Federal la~s; and
WHEREAS, the conditions imposed on the condi-
tional use permit will adequately protect the public
health, safety and general welfare and the operation is
consistent with all applicable rules and laws of th~
City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the proposed use as a continuing non-
conforming use is consistent with the proposed General
Plan and the Interim Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Vernon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the conditional use permit to
Superior Assembly and Distribution, Inc. for the operation
of a truck terminal at 5525 Santa Fe Avenue be granted
with the following conditions:
a. The facility be operated in accordance with
the appropriate codes, rules, regulations
and permit fees as adopted by the City of
Vernon.

b. Arty hazardous substances used or handled are
requ.ired to have prior approval from the
Vernon Fire and Health Departments.
c. The number of employee parking spaces
required per the Vernon City Code must
be provided and maintained.
d. The truck and trailer storage and parking
plan shall be approved by the Director of
Community Services and the fire chief prior
to.()ccupancy.
e. The frontage improvements shall be
constructed pe~ City of Vernon
master plan of streets and City
Standards as established by the Director of
Communi ty Services along Sant.a Fe Avenue and
55th Street. Frontage improvements will
include but are not limited to a sidewalk
where necessar.y, . a 30 inch high barrier wall
along the pr()pe~ty lines of the street
frontages, the cort::struction of a 50. foot
curb return at the southwest corner
of Santa Fe Avenue and 55th Street, and the
relocation of power poles, anchor, traffic
signals, pull boxes and any other objects
interfering with the curb return.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City
of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals
contained hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and there-
upon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
