A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, FIRE
DEPARTMENT. AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
7 letter dated June 23, 1988, reconunended to the Finance Conunittee
8 that the property from the Police Department, the Fire Depart...
9 ment, and the ConununityServices Department, more particularly
10 described in Exhibits "A", liB" and "C", respectively, which are
11 attached hereto and made a part hereof, are surplus to the needs
12 of the City of Vernon as said items are outdated and in poor
13 condition and are therefor no longer useful to the needs of the
14 City of Vernonr and
15 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
16 reconunended that the said surplus property described in the at..
17 tached Exhibits "A", "B",and "C" be disposed of by public
18 auction: and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
20 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
21 that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B",
22 and "C" from the Police Department, Fire Department, and Com-
23 munity Services Department be sold as surplus pursuant to Section
24 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
25 NOW, THER:gFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
26 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of the
28 Government. Code of the State of California, the City Council of

the City of Ve.rnon hereby finds and determines that the property

described in the attached Exhibits "A", liB", and "C" are surplus
SECTION 2:
That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
hereby authorized to contract with an auction company for the
sale of the property described in the attached
"B", and "C" as surplus property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the Ci tyof Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
