A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF BEYLIKDRILLING
INC., FOR DRILLING TWO WATER WELLS, ONE AT
FRUITLAND AVE., AND THE OTHER AT DISTRICT BLVD.,
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 492 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CONTRACT

WHEREAS, Contract No. 492 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 5514 and sealed bids were opened on June 7, 1988 i
9 and

WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Lewis R. Adams,
11 Director of Water & Power, who has reported to the City Council
12 under the date of July 26, 1988, recommending that the contract
13 for the drilling of two water wells, one at Fruitland Ave. and
14 the other at District Blvd. be executed with Bey1ik Drilling, Inc.
15 on the basis of its bid in the sum of FIVE HUNDl<ED NINETY ONE
16 THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($591,400.00) being
17 the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.

NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY.THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
21 hereby award Contract No. 492 in accordance with the recommenda-
22 tion of Lewis R. Adams, Director of Water & Power, and authorizes
23 the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the Ckty
24
25 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
26 any cashier Or certified checks deposited with said bids upon the
27 receipt of an executed contract from BEYLIK DRILLING, INC.,
28 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
2 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
3 thereafter the same shall be ih full force and effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of July, 1988.
