A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A 1988-1989 IN-LIEU REPLENISHMENT
AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON
AND THE CENTRAL AND WEST BASIN WATER
REPLENISHMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Central Basin Municipal Water District is a
member agency of the Metropolitan Water Districtr and
WHEREAS, the Central and West Basin Water Replenishment
District was formed to carry out replenishment functionsr and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon purchases water from the
Central Basin Municipal Water Districtr and
WHEREAs, the Metropolitan Water Dist.rict has adopted a
program whereby "water. producers" of member agencies may purchase
water on a r~stricted basis during specific months. at an II in-
lieu" replenishment rater and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5428 on S.eptember 8, 1987, which approved the ex-
ecution of the 1987-1988 In-Lieu Replenishment AgreemEmtr and

approve the 1988-1989 In-Lieu Replenishment Agreelllentby letter
dated August 9, 1988.

THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
NOW, iTHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinab9ve are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon

1 hereby approves the 1988-1989 In-Lieu Replenishment Agreement, a
2 copy of which has been presented to the City Council concurrently
3 with this resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said
4 Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
6 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
7 Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in fu11 force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of August, 1988.
