RESOLUTION NO. 5546
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING EXHIBIT "A", SCHEDULE II,
PAGE 14, OF RESOLUTION NO. 5531 WHICH FIXED
THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF
SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE
ALLOWANCES
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5531 was adopted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on June 30, 1988, to be effective
on July 1, 1988r and
WHEREAS, . Exhibit "A", Schedule II, page 14 of Resolution
No. 5531 provides for the positions and salary scale of police
officers and sergeants in the Vernon Police Departmentr and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5489 on March 15, 1988, which approved a Memoran-
dum of Under~tandLng dated March 1, 1988, by and between the
Municipal Employees Relations Representative of the City of Ver-
non and the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit Associationr and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2.4 of the Memoran-
dum of Understanding, the City Council of the City of Vernon in-
tends to establish a new salary scale for the positions of police
officers and sergeants in the Vernon Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Ver~on
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2:
That Exhibit "A", Schedule II, page 14 of
Resolution No. 5531, is hereby amended to establish a new salary

scale for the positions of police officers and sergeants in the
Vernon Police Department, effective September 1, 1988, as indi-
cated on the corrected page 14 of Exhibit "A", Schedule II, which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 3:
That in all other respects Resolution No.
5531 shall remain in full force and effect and the provisions in
Resolution No. 5531 not consistent with or in conflict with this
Resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and ef-
fect.
