A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS
P.ROPERTYFROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, POLICE
DEPARTMENT, AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT PURSUANT
TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
7 letter dated August 18, 1988, recommended to the Finance Com-
8 mittee that the property from the Fire Department, more par-
9 ticular1y described on the attached Exhibit "A", which is. at-
10 tached hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus to the needs of
11 the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, outdated and in
.12 poor and irreparable cond,itionand are therefor no longer\.J.sefUl
13 to the needs of the City of Vernon: and
14 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Ma1kenhorst, Director of Finance, . by
15 letter dated September 22, 1988, recommended to the Finance Com-
16 mittee that the property from the Police Department and the
17 Finance Department, more particularly described on the attaChed
18 Exhibits "B"and "C", respectively, which are atta.chedheretoand
19 made a part hereof, are surplus to the needs of the City of Ver....
20 non as said items are obsolete, outdated and in poor and ir-
21 reparable condition and are therefor no longer useful to the
22 needs of the City of Vernon: and
23 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
24 recommended that the said surplus property described in the at-
25 tached Exhibits "A", "B" and tIC" be disposed of by public altc-
26 tion: and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that the property described in the attached Exhibits ",A", "B" and
"c'" from the Fire Department, Police Department and Finance
Department, respectively, be sold as surplus pursuant ,to Section
2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
described in the attached Exhibits "All, "BII and "C"are surplus
to the needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
hereby authorized to contract with an auction company for the
sale of the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B"
and"C" as surplus property.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereup~n and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of October, 1988.
