RESOLUTION NO. 5585

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF
BEYLIK DRILLING, INC., IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 492 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

5 WHEREAS, Beylik Drilling, Inc., was awarded the contract for
6 work on drilling two (2) water wells (at 4755 District Blvd. and E. 3336
7 50th St.) Contract No. 492 of the City of Vernon; and
8 WHEREAS, Lewis R. Adams, Director of Water & Power, has reported
9 to the City Council of the City of Vernon on January 24, 1989, that said
10 work has been completed and recommends that the work be accepted and
11 payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the agreement.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
13 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the work of Beylik Drilling, Inc., pursuant
15 to Contract No. 492 is hereby approved by the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the total contract amount is Six Hundred
17 Sixteen Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Two Dollars and No/Cents ($616,462.00).
18 That there is now due to the Contractor a final partial payment totaling
19 Ninety Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy Five Dollars and No/Cents
20 ($97,875.00), which should be paid at this time, and the remaining percent
21 (10%) of the total contract amount, or the sum of Sixty One Thousand Six
22 Hundred Forty Six Dollars and 20/Cents ($61,646.20) is payable thirty-five
23 days after the adoption of this resolution and the City Council of the
24 City of Vernon hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to
25 Beylik Drilling, Inc., and instructs the City Clerk to file a notice of
26 completion with the County Recorder.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
28 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter
