A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 487 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR ATLANTIC, EVERETT, AYERS AND
SLAUSON AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 487 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City
Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 487 for At-
lantic, Everett, Ayers and Slauson Avenue Improvements,
in accordance with Contract No. 487 of the City of
Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ver-
non has determined that it is in the best interests of
the City of Vernon that said contract be awarded in ac-
cordance with applicable State law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Contract No. 487 is hereby ap-
proved by the City Counoil of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Ver-
non is hereby directed to file in his office at the City
Hall of the City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No.
487.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Ver-
non is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, in-
viting sealed proposals or bids for Atlantic, Everett,
Ayers and Slauson Avenue Improvements, in accordance
with Contract No. 487 and in accordance with this
resolution.

1 SECT JON 4: There being no newspaper of
2 general circulation printed, published or circulated in
3 the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to
4 post said notice, or cause the same to be posted, in
5 three of the most public places in the City of Vernon,
6 to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa
7 Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonie Boulevard and
8 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the
9 lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at
10 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
11 SEOTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Ver-
12 non is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and
13 the first posting of said notice shall not be les5 than
14 ten (10) days before the opening of the bids for the
15 proposed contract. Said notice shall provide that
16 sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City of
17 Vernon at the office of the City Clerk of the City, at
18 the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-
19 0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 2nd day of
20 May, 1989, and in accordance with Contract No. 487 ap-
21 proved by said City.
22 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Ver-
23 non shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
24 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
25 and effect.
