RESOLUTION NO. 5620
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE CITY CLERK
DEPARTMENT, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THE
WATER AND POWER DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO
SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
letter dated May 4, 1989, recommended to the Finance Committee
that property from the City Clerk Department,
the Fire
Department and the Water and Power Department, more particularly
described on the attached Exhibits "A",
liB" and "C",
respectfully, which are attached hereto and made a part hereof,
are surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are
obsolete, outdated and in poor and irreparable condition and are
therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon;
and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,
has recommended that the said surplus property described in the
attached Exhibits "A", "B" and "C" be disposed of by public
auction; and
WHEREAS, the Ci ty Council of the ci ty of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
Vernon that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A",
liB" and "c" from the City Clerk Department, the Fire Department,
24 and the Water and Power Department be sold as surplus pursuant

to Section 2.31 of the Vernon city Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of

the Government Code of the state of California, the City Council
of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
property described in the attached Exhibits "A", liB" and "C" are
surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: That the City Administrator/City Clerk is

hereby authorized to contract wi th an auction company for the
sale of the property described in the attached
Exhibits "A",
liB" and "c" as surplus property.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
