Resolution No. 5627 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 5627 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DESIGNATING A PORTION OF BOYLE AVENUE TO BE IN THE FEDERAL-AID URBAN SYSTEM WHEREAS, pursuant to regulations issued by the Secretary of Transportation under the Federal-Aid Highway Act (Title 23 U.S. Code), the City of Vernon, with concur- rence of the California Department of Transportation, has been designated to select a Federal-Aid Urban System in this City; and WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Park has adopted a resolution declaring Boyle Avenue within its boundaries as part of said system; and WHEREAS, the approximate eastern half of Boyle Avenue from Slauson Avenue to Randolph Avenue is located in the City of Vernon as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof by reference, and the west- ern portion is located in the City of Huntington Park, and both Cities must agree to place said section of Boyle Avenue within the Federal-Aid Urban System; and WHEREAS, Boyle Avenue Between Vernon Avenue and Fruitland Avenue in the City of Vernon is already a part of said system; and WHEREAS, it would be advantageous to make Boyle Avenue between Fruitland Avenue and Slauson Avenue, as shown on Exhibit A, part of said system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon 1 '. 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 1 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained 2 hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby selects Boyle Avenue between Fruitland Avenue and Slauson Avenue and the approximate eastern half of Boyle Avenue between Slauson Avenue and Randolph Avenue in the City of Vernon, all as shown on Exhibit A, to be part of the Federal-Aid Urban System subject to the concurrence of the California Department of Transportation and approval of the Federal Highway Administration. SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution and there- upon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and ef- feet. ATTEST: /5- BRUCE V.
