RESOLUTION NO. 5647
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING THE TERMS AND SPECIFICA-
TIONS OF CONTRACT NO. 495 AND AUTHORIZING
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS FOR
VERNON CIVIC CENTER THIRD FLOOR ADDITION
IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, proposed Contract No. 495 has been present-
ed to the City Council of the City of Vernon for Vernon Civic
Center Third Floor Addition, in accordance with the terms
thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
Vernon that said contract be put out to bid in accordance
with applicable State law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained here-
inabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The terms and specifications of Contract
No. 495 are hereby approved by the City Council of the City of
Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
23 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
24 City of Vernon a copy of said proposed Contract No. 495.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
26 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
27 proposals or bids for Vernon Civic Center Third Floor Addition
28 in accordance with the terms and specifications of Contract

No. 495 and in accordance with this resolution.
SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general cir-
culation printed, published or circulated in the City of Ver-
non, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or
cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of
38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of
Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin
board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, lo-
cated at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract.
Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will
be received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City
Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the
10th day of August 1989, and in accordance with the terms and
specifications of Contract No. 495 approved by said City.
SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

Vernon, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution, being
Resolution No. 5647, was duly adopted by the City Council of
the City of Vernon, and was approved by the Mayor of said
City at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council held
on Tuesday, July 11th, 1989.
