A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING A ONE-YEAR
EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO. 443 AND A 3.75%
INCREASE IN COMPENSATION FOR SIGNAL
MAINTENANCE, INC.

WHEREAS, Contract No. 443, Traffic Signal Maintenance
was awarded to Signal Maintenance,
Inc. ,
by
Agreement,

Resolution No. 4830 on August 6, 1981 for a term of five years
from September 1, 1981 to August 31, 1986; and
8

WHEREAS, said contract provided for annual cost
10
increases based on the consumer price index and for annual
11
extensions thereof after August 31, 1986; and
WHEREAS, said contract has been extended annually since
12
13
August 31, 1986, and has included cost adjustments with the last
extension and cost increase approved by minute order of the City
14
15
Council on July 8, 1988; and

WHEREAS, said contract will expire on August 31, 1989,
unless extended and Signal Maintenance,
Inc., has requested a
one-year extension of said contract with a cost increase of
3.75%; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Services has
recommended that said contract be extended and has verified that

Signal Maintenance, Inc., is eligible for a 3.75% increase based
on the consumer price index.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
and determines
that the recitals contained

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon

hereby approves the extension of Contract No. 443 with Signal
3
Maintenance, Inc., for one year until August 31, 1990.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
5

hereby approves an increase in the compensation paid to Signal
Maintenance, Inc., effective September 1, 1989, in the amount of
7
3.75%.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
9
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
