A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT, THE COMMUNITY SERVICES
DEPARTMENT, AND THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON
CITY CODE

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by

letter dated June 21, 1989, recommended to the Finance Committee
that the property from the Police Department, the Community
8
9
Services Department,
and the Finance Department more
10
particularly described on the attached Exhibits "A",
"B" and
11
"C", respectively, which are attached hereto and made a part
12
13
hereof,
are surplus to the needs of the city of Vernon as
said items are obsolete, outdated and in poor and irreparable
14
15
16
condition and are therefor no longer useful to the needs of the
City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,
has recommended that the said surplus property described in the
attached Exhibits "A", "B" and "c" be disposed of by public
17

auction; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
22
Vernon that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A",
23
"B" and "C" from the Police Department, the Community Services
24
Department and the Finance Department be sold as surplus
25
26
pursuant to section 2.31 of the Vernon city Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That in accordance with section 37350 of

the Government Code of the state of California, the City Council

of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
3
property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B" and "c" are
4 surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.
5 SECTION 2: That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
6 hereby authorized to with auction for the

"B" and "c" as surplus property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of July, 1989.
