RESOLUTION NO. 5654
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF ADVANCE TANK
& CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE REHABILITATION
OF RESERVOIR 3-3 (AT FIRE STATION #1), IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 496 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF
SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 496 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 5628, and sealed bids were opened on July 11,
9 19 8 9; and

WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Lewis R. Adams,
11 Director of Water and Power, who has reported to the City Council
12 under the date of August 8, 1989, recommending that the contract
13 for the rehabilitation of Reservoir 3-3 (at Fire Station #1) be
14 executed with Advance Tank & Construction Company, on the basis
15 of its bid in the sum of One Hundred Thirty Four Thousand Seven
16 Hundred Fifty Dollars and No Cents ($134,750.00) being the
17 lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
21 hereby award Contract No. 496 in accordance with the recommenda-
22 tion of Lewis R. Adams, Director of Water & Power, and authorizes
23 the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
25 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
26 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
27 the receipt of an executed contract from Advance Tank &
28 Construction Company accompanied by all required bonds and
1 certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
4 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
