A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AMENDING EXHIBIT nAn,
SCHEDULE II, PAGE 14, OF RESOLUTION NO.
5641, WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR
CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND
AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5641 was adopted by the city
Council of the City of Vernon on June 27, 1989, to be effective
7

on July 1, 1989; and

WHEREAS, Exhibit nAil, Schedule II, page 14 of
Resolution No. 5641 provides for the positions and salary scale

of police officers and sergeants in the Vernon Police
Department; and
13
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
14

Resolution No.
1988,
which approved a
5489 on March 15,
Memorandum of Understanding dated March 1, 1988, by and between
the Municipal Employees Relations Representative of the City of
Vernon and the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit Association; and
in accordance with section 2.4 of the
WHEREAS,

Memorandum of Understanding,
the city Council of the City of

Vernon intends to establish a new salary scale for the positions
of police officers and sergeants in the Vernon Police
22
Department.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the city Council of the city of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
27

hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That Exhibit "A", Schedule II, page 14 of

Resolution No. 5641, is hereby amended to establish a new salary
scale for the positions of police officers and sergeants in the
Vernon Police Department, effective September 1, 1989, as
indicated on the corrected page 14 of Exhibit "A", Schedule II,
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 3:
That in all other respects Resolution No.
5641 shall remain in full force and effect and the provisions in
Resolution No. 5641 not consistent with or in conflict with this
Resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution
and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of August, 1989.
