A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY'S
OFFICE, THE WATER AND POWER DEPARTMENT,
AND THE LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON
CITY CODE

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by

1989, recommended to the Finance
letter dated November 7,

Committee that the property from the City Attorney's Office,

more particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A", which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof;
the Water and Power
12
Department, more particularly described on the attached Exhibit
13
"B", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof;
and the
14
Light and Power Department, more particularly described on the
15
16

attached Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof, are surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said
items are obsolete,
outdated and in poor and irreparable
18
condition and are therefor no longer useful to the needs of the
19
City of Vernon; and

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,
has recommended that the said surplus property described in the
22
attached Exhibits "A", "B" and "C" be disposed of by public
23
auction; and
24
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
25

Vernon that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A",
27
28
"B" and "C" from the city Attorney's Office, the Water and Power
Department and the Light and Power Department be sold as

surplus pursuant to Section 2.3l of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1 :
That in accordance with Section 37350 of

the Government Code of the State of California, the City Council
of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
7
property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B" and "C" are
8
surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2:
That the City AdministratorlCity Clerk is
10

hereby authorized to contract with an auction company for the
sale of the property described in the attached
Exhibits "A",
12
13
"B" and "C" as surplus property.
SECTION 3: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
14
15
16
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of November, 1989.
