A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE LIGHT AND POWER
DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE
VERNON CITY CODE

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by

letter dated November 21, 1989, recommended to the Finance
7
Committee that the property from the Light and Power Department
8
more particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A", which
9

is attached hereto and made a part hereof,
is surplus to the
needs of the City of Vernon as said items are in poor or
irreparable condition and are no longer useful to the needs of
the City of Vernon; and

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,

has recommended that the said surplus property be disposed of
pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of

Vernon that the property set forth above be sold as surplus
pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 :
That in accordance with Section 37350 of

the Government Code of the State of California, the City Council

of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
property described in the attached Exhibit "A" are surplus to
the needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
hereby authorized to obtain bids pursuant to Section 2.31 of the

Vernon City Code for the sale of the aforementioned property as

surplus property.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of December, 1989.
