RESOLUTION NO. 5736

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK
TO MAKE AND DELIVER A CERTIFICATE OF
ELECTION TO COUNCILMEN LEONIS C. MALBURG,
THOMAS A. YBARRA AND WILLIAM M. MCCORMICK

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon in
Resolution No. 5716 appointed Leonis C. Malburg, Thomas A.
Ybarra and William M. McCormick as members of the City Council
to serve a term of four (4) years pursuant to Section 22843.5 of
the Elections Code of the state of California; and
WHEREAS, Section 22843.5 of the Elections Code
provides, in part, as follows:
". . .The person appointed, if any, shall

qualify and take office and serve exactly

as if elected at a municipal election for
the office. .

WHEREAS, Section 22934 of the Elections Code requires
that the City Clerk shall sign and deliver a Certificate of
Election and administer the oath of office.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Clerk shall immediately make and

deliver to Leonis C. Malburg, Thomas A. Ybarra and William M.
McCormick a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and

duly authenticated.
SECTION 2 The City Clerk shall administer to Messrs.
Malburg, Ybarra and McCormick the Oath of Office prescribed in
27
the State Constitution of the State of California and shall have
28
them subscribe thereto and file the same in the office of the

City Clerk.
Whereupon, Messrs. Malburg, Ybarra and McCormick

shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have
been elected.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the

book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a
minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of the said City, in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
8
effect.
