RESOLUTION NO. 5746
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 501 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION,
PACIFIC BOULEVARD AND LEONIS BOULEVARD, PACIFIC
BOULEVARD AND FRUITLAND AVENUE, SOTO STREET AND
26TH STREET, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 501
OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Coun-
cil of the City of Vernon Contract No. 501 for Traffic
Signal Modernization, Pacific Boulevard and Leonis Boulevard,
Pacific Boulevard and Fruitland Avenue, Soto Street and 26th
Street, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance with ap-
plicable State law.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
17 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
18 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
19 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained here-
20 inabove are true and correct.
21 SECTION 2: Contract No. 501 is hereby approved by
22 the City Council of the City of Vernon.
23 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
24 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
25 City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
26 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
27 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
28 proposals or bids for Traffic Signal Modernization, Pacific

1 Boulevard and Leonis Boulevard, Pacific Boulevard and Fruit-
2 land Avenue, Soto street and 26th street, in accordance with
3 Contract No. 501 and in accordance with this resolution.
4 SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general cir-
5 culation printed, published or circulated in the City of Ver-
6 non, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or
7 cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
8 places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of
9 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of
10 Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin
11 board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, lo-
12 cated at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
13 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
14 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
15 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
16 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract.
17 Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will
18 be received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City
19 Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
20 Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the
21 15th day of May, 1990.

SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
2 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
3 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
