A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON CONSENTING TO A JOINT
PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED
REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE INDUSTRIAL
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT

7 WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Vernon
8 ("Agency") is engaged in activities necessary or appropriate to
9 carry out the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health &
10 Safety Code, Sections 33000, et seq.) within the City of Vernon;
11 and
12
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33330 of the Community
13 Redevelopment Law, the Agency has prepared a proposed
14 Redevelopment Plan for the Industrial Redevelopment Project in
15 the City of Vernon; and
16
WHEREAS, Section 33355 of the Community Redevelopment
17 Law authorizes a joint public hearing on the proposed
18 Redevelopment Plan with the consent of the Agency and the City
19 Council; and
20
WHEREAS, the Agency has consented to a joint publ ic
21 hearing on the proposed Redevelopment Plan; and
22
WHEREAS,
the Agency has further requested the city
23 Council to call a joint public hearing of the Agency and City
24 Council, at a date, time and place to be determined by the City
25 Council, to consider and act upon the proposed Redevelopment
26 Plan and all documents and evidence pertaining thereto.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
28 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Council hereby finds and

determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and
3
correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council hereby consents to a joint
public hearing on the proposed Redevelopment Plan for the

Industrial Redevelopment project, to consider and act upon the
proposed Redevelopment Plan and all documents and evidence
pertaining thereto.
SECTION 3:
The City Administrator or his designee is
hereby authorized and directed, in cooperaton with the Executive
Director of the Agency or his designee and the City Clerk of the
City of Vernon, to set the date, time and place of such joint
public hearing, and prepare, publish and mail such notices and
documents, and do all other acts as may be necessary to carry
out the purposes of this resolution.
SECTION 4: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
