"" j WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon on 1990, adopted Resolution No. 5744 approving Contract 10 No. 502 and authorizing a notice for bids for the rehabilitation 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 May 1, RESOLUTION NO. 5766 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH TWINING & ASSOCIATES, INC. TO PROVIDE QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTION OF THE WELDING AND INTERIOR/EXTERIOR COATING OF RESERVOIR 3-1 WHICH WILL BE DONE UNDER CONTRACT NO. 502 11 of Reservoir 3-1 at Fire station 311 and 12 13 WHEREAS, the State Health Department requirements call for special care to insure use of proper materials and 14 application for facilities used for potable water1 and 15 16 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon does not have trained staff or equipment to insure compliance with the State Health 17 Department requirements1 and 18 WHEREAS, by letter dated May 30, 1990, Bruce V. 19 Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City Clerk, indicated that the 20 Director of community Services has recommended that the services 21 of Twining & Associates, Inc. be engaged to provide quality 22 control inspection of the welding and interior/exterior coating 23 of Reservoir No. 3-1, which will be performed in conjunction 24 with City of Vernon Contract No. 502 at a cost not to exceed 25 $20,000..001 and 26 WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized to award 27 contracts for services without formal bid procedures pursuant to 28 Vernon City Code Section 2.27. 1 2 3 4 5 6 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 hereby approves the Agreement, a copy of which has been presented to the City Council concurrently with this resolution and the City Council hereby orders said Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk. SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the city Clerk to execute said Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
