RESOLUTION NO. 5774
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF A CITYLINK SUBSCRIBER
AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN INFORMATION FOR
PUBLIC AFFAIRS, INC. AND THE CITY OF
VERNON, A MEMBER OF THE LEAGUE OF
CALIFORNIA CITIES
WHEREAS, the League of California cities offers its
in conj unction with the State Net Services of
Information for Public Affairs, Inc. (IPA), a subscription

service to a program referred to as "CITYLINK" which provides

access to a private network of legislative bill tracking,
electronic mail and data base services1 and

WHEREAS, the ci ty of Vernon has determined that the
CITYLINK program would assist in the City's operation by
enabling it to obtain information pertaining to California and
federal legislative and regulatory activities as well as
obtaining help from the League of California cities Legal

Services System 1 and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon desires to enter into a
CITYLINK Subscriber Agreement for the period of July 1, 1990 to

June 30,
1991, at an agreed cost of Two Thousand One Hundred
Eighty-Five Dollars ($2,185.00), which includes sixty (60) hours
of computer connect time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves the CITYLINK Subscriber Agreement, a copy of

which has been presented to the City Council concurrently
withthis resolution and the City Council hereby orders said
Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon

hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said

Agreement and any other document necessary for the
implementation of said program for, and on behalf of, the City
10
of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of June, 1990.
