RESOLUTION NO. 5786
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A 1990-1991 IN-LIEU REPLENISHMENT
AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON
AND THE CENTRAL AND WEST BASIN WATER
REPLENISHMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Central Basin Municipal Water District
is a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District; and
WHEREAS, the Central and West Basin Water Replenish-
ment District was formed to carry out replenishment functions;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon purchases water from the
Central Basin Municipal Water District; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District has adopted
a program whereby "water producers" of member agencies may
purchase water on a restricted basis during specific months at
an "in-lieu" replenishment rate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
adopted Resolution No. 5630 on June 20, 1989, which approved
the execution of the 1989-1990 In-Lieu Replenishment
Agreement; and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the City
Administrator/City Clerk, has recommended that the City Coun-
cil approve the 1990-1991 In-Lieu Replenishment Agreement by
letter dated July 12, 1990.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained here-
inabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of
2 Vernon hereby approves the 1990-1991 In-Lieu Replenishment
3 Agreement, a copy of which has been presented to the City
4 Council concurrently with this resolution, and the City Coun-
5 cil hereby orders said Agreement to be received and filed by
6 the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of
8 Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to exec-
9 cute said Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Ver-
10 non.
11 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
12 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
13 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
14 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of July, 1990.

Vernon, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution,
being Resolution No. 5786, was duly adopted by the City Coun-
cil of the City of Vernon, at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on Tuesday, July 17, 1990 and thereafter duly
signed by the Mayor of the City of Vernon.
