RESOLUTION NO. 5804
3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
4 THE EXECUTION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
AGREEMENT NO. 12 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY
5 OF VERNON AND THE OWNERS OF A PRIVATE
STREET KNOWN AS ,JEWEL AVENUE

7 WHEREAS, the landowners who own real property adjacent
8 to that certain private street known as Jewel Avenue between
9 37th Street and Vernon Avenue in the city of Vernon and
10 consisting of a northerly extension of Seville Avenue desire to
11 dedicate said right-of-way to the City and to have it improved
12 at their expense as a public street according to the street
13 standards and specifications of the City; and
14
WHEREAS, it will benefit the health, safety, and
15 welfare of the residents and business population of the City to
16 have said right-of-way dedicated and improved as a public street
17 subj ect to the traff ic and parking regulations and enforcement
18 of the City; and
19
WHEREAS, dedication of the street right-of-way will
20 reduce by twenty-three (23) the number of parking spaces
21 available to the parcel of real property located at the south-
22 west corner of Jewel Avenue and 37th Street; and
23 WHEREAS, Public Improvements Agreement No. 12 has been
24 submitted to the City Council concurrently with this resolution
25 whereby the ci ty agrees to construct certain improvements on
26 said right-of-way substantially in accordance with the
27 construction plans on file in the office of the Director of
28 Community Services; and

2 WHEREAS, the landowners will deliver to City
3 concurrently with the execution of this Agreement deeds of
4 record dedicating the right-of-way to the City for the purpose
5 of a public street and a deed or covenant of record providing
6 land area sufficient :to replace said twenty-three (23)
7 automobile parking spaces.
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
9 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
10 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
11 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
12 hereinabove are true and correct.
13 SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon
14 hereby approves Public Improvements Agreement No. 12, a copy of
15 which has been presented to the City Council concurrently with
16 this resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said
17 Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
18 SECTION 3: The dedication of the parcels of land for
19 the street right-of-way heretofore known as Jewel Avenue and the
20 covenant for parking are hereby accepted and approved.
21 SECTION 4: Said right-of-way shall hereafter be known
22 as Seville Avenue.
23 SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Vernon
24 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
25 Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of October, 1990.
