A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE HEALTH
DEPARTMENT TO THE VERNON CITY ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
6 letter dated January 2, 1991, recommended to the Finance
7 Committee that property from the Health Department more
8 particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A", which is
9 attached hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus to the needs
lO of the City of Vernon as said medical equipment and supplies are
11 no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon as the
12 position of City Nurse has been eliminated; and
l3 WHEREAS~ Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
l4 letter dated January 2, 1991, also recommended to the Finance

l5 Commi ttee that property from the Health Department more
16 particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A" be donated to
17 the Vernon City Elementary School for use by their school nurse
18 for the children; and
19
WHEREAS, the city Council of the City of Vernon has
20 determined that the donation of the surplus property set forth
21 above to the Vernon city Elementary School serves a public
22 purpose by (i) promoting the general municipal welfare; (ii)
23 providing public beneficial effect; and (iii) being in the best
24 interests of the constituents of the City of Vernon.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
26 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
28 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
1 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2:, In accordance with section 37350 of the
3 Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
4 the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
5 described in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of
6 the City of Vernon.
7 SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
8 hereby finds and determinations that the donation of the
9 property described in the attached Exhibit "A" to the Vernon
lO Ci ty Elementary School for use by their school nurse for the
11 children serves a public purpose.

SECTION 4: The City Administrator/city Clerk is hereby
l3 authorized to donate said surplus property to the Vernon city
l4 Elementary School.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
16 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
17 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
18 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of January, 1991.
