RESOLUTION NO. 5876
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ADOPTING THE (CENTRAL BASIN
MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT) URBAN WATER
MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE EFFICIENT USE OF WATER
WHEREAS, the California Legislature enacted Assembly
Bill 797, known as the Urban Water Management Planning Act,
which mandates that every urban supplier of water providing
water for municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers
prepare an Urban Water Management Plan, the primary objective
of which is to plan for the conservation and efficient use of
water; and
WHEREAS, AB 797 requires that said Plan be peri-
odically reviewed at least once every five years, and that
the urban water supplier shall make any amendments or changes
to its plan which are indicated by the review; and
WHEREAS, the city is an urban supplier of water sup-
plying more than 3,000 acre-feet annually, and will therefore,
adopt Central Basin Municipal's Urban Water Management Plan
which will comply with AB 797.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The city Council of the City of Vernon
hereby adopts the Urban Water Management Plan prepared by the
Central Basin Municipal Water District as Vernon's Water
ManagementPla~a copy of which has been submitted concur-

rently herewith and the City Clerk directed to file said plan
in the Clerk's records~
SECTION 3: The Director of community services is
hereby authorized and directed to implement the water Conser-
vation Programs as detailed in the adopted Urban Water Manage-
ment Plan and to carry out effective and equitable water con-
servation programs.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of February,
1991.
