A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY SERVICES, THE POLICE DEPARTMENT,
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, THE LIGHT AND POWER
DEPARTMENT AND THE WATER DEPARTMENT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON
CITY CODE

8 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst" Director of Finance, by
9 letter dated February 7, 1991, recommended to the city Council
10 that the property from the following departments
is surplus to
11 the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete,
12 outdated and in poor and irreparable condition and are therefor
13 no longer useful to the needs of the city of Vernon:

Community services Department, more particularly
15 described on the attached Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto
16 and made a part hereof;
17 Police Department, more particularly des~ribed on the
18 attached Exhibit "B", which is attached hereto and made apart
19 hereof;

Fire Department, more particularly described on the
21 attached Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and made a part
22 hereof;
23 Light and Power Department, more particularly described
24 on the attached Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and made a
25 part hereof; and

Water Department, more particularly described on the
27 attached Exhibit "E", which is attached hereto and made a part

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,
has recommended that the said surplus property described in the
attached Exhibits "A" through"E" be disposed of by public
auction; and
WHEREAS, the ci ty Council of the ci ty of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
Vernon that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A"
through "E" from the Community services; Police, Fire, Light and
Power and Water Departments be sold as surplus pursuant to
section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That in accordance with section 37350 of
the Government Code of the State of California, the City Council
of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B" "C", "D"
and "E" are surplus to the needs of the City of Verhon.
SECTION 2: That the City AdministratorlCity Clerk is
hereby authorized to contract with an auction company for the
sale of the property described in the attached Exhibits "A",
"B" "C", "D", and "E" as surplus property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
2 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
3 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
