RESOLUTION NO. 5898
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SIGNAL
MAINTENANCE, INC. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 501 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Signal Maintenance, Inc. was awarded
Contract No. 501 for work on Traffic Signal MOdernization,
Pacific Boulevard and Leonis Boulevard, Pacific Boulevard and
Fruitland Avenue and Soto Street and 26th Street pursuant to
Resolution No. 5756 of t:he City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Victor H. vaits, Director of Community
Services has reported to the City Council of the City of
Vernon on March 11, 1991, that said work has been completed
and recommends that the work be .ccepted and payment be made
to the Contractor in accordance with the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The city Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The work of Signal Maintenance, Inc.,
pursuant to Contract No. 501 is hereby approved by the City of
Vernon.
SECTION 3: The total contract amount is
Thirty-eight Thousand Seven Hundred Eighteen Dollars
($38,718.00). There is now due to the contractor a final
partial payment totaling One Thousand Seven Hundred Forty-Two
Dollars Thirty-one Cents, ($1,742.31.), which is payable at

this time, and the remaining ten percent (10%) of the total
contract amount, or the sum of Three Thousand Eight Hundred
Seventy-one Dollars and Eighty Cents ($3,871.80) is payable
thirty-five (35) days after the adoption of this resolution.
SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Signal
Maintenance Inc. and instructs the city Clerk to file a notice
of completion with the County Recorder.
SECTION 5:
The City Clerk of the City of'Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thQreupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of Marcn 1991.
