A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF COUNTYWIDE WARRANT SYSTEM
COUNTY -CITY AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE
CITY OF VERNON AND THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES PROVIDING FOR ACCESS TO THE
COUNTYWIDE WARRANT SYSTEM OPERATED BY THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS I the County of Los Angeles operates the
Countywide Warrant System (CWS) which provides services and
information on arrest warrants; and

WHEREAS I the County of Los Angeles is authorized by
12
Government Code Section 51300 to enter into contracts with local
13
police agencies to provide such services and access to the CWS
14
and has offered to enter into a contract with the City of Vernon
15
16
retroactive to July 1, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has used the CWS for many
17
years with the last contract therefor having been executed
18
19
effective July 1, 1987 for three years; and
WHEREAS, the cost for said services will be offset, if
20

not completely covered, by revenues accruing under Vehicle Code
Section 40508.5 and Penal Code Section 853.7a; and
WHEREAS, said services and information are benef icial
to the City of Vernon and are in the public interest; and
WHEREAS, a copy of said countywide Warrant System
County-city Agreement has been submitted to the city Council of
the City of Vernon concurrently with this resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City council of the City of Vernon
3 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
4 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
6 hereby approves said countywide Warrant system County-City
7 Agreement which has been presented to the City Council
8 concurrently herewith and orders said Agreement to be received
9 and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the city of Vernon
11 hereby authorizes the Chief of Police to execute said Agreement
12,for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of March, 1991.
