RESOLUTION NO. 5907
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 508 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR WASHINGTON BOULEVARD RESURFACING,
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 508 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Coun-
7 cil of the City of Vernon Contract No. 508 for Washington
8 Boulevard Resurfacing, and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
10 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
11 Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance with ap-
12 plicable State law.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
14 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
16 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained here-
17 inabove are true and correct.
18 SECTION 2: Contract No. 508 Washington Boulevard
19 Resurfacing is hereby approved by the City Council of the
20 City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
22 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
23 City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
24 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
25 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
26 proposals or bids for Washington Boulevard Resurfacing, in
27 accordance with Contract No. 508 and in accordance with this
28 resolution.

1 SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general cir-
2 culation printed, published or circulated in the City of Ver-
3 non, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or
4 cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
5 places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of
6 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of
7 Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin
8 board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, 10-
9 cated at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
10 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
11 heTeby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
12 posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days
13 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract.
14 Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will
15 be received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City
16 Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
17 Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the
18 23rd day of April, 1991.
19 SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
20 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
21 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
22 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of April, 1991.
