RESOLUTION NO. 5924
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ESTABLISHING THE RATES FOR
THE SALE OF WATER IN THE CITY OF VERNON IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE VERNON CITY CODE AND
REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 5861
WHEREAS, Vernon City Code sections 25. 1, 25. 2 , 25. 3 ,
25.5, 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51 provide that the rates for the sale
of water in the City are to be set by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5861 on December 18, 1990 setting the water rates
effective for the regular billing of February, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community
Services, has recommended by memo dated April 24, 1991, that the
rates established for water services be raised to reflect the
increased cost of providing said services and that the adjusted
rates become effective for regular billing for July, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the proposed rate changes were approved by the
Finance Committee on May 13, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the City council of the City of Vernon wishes
to establish new rates for the sale of water in the city of
Vernon in accordance with the Vernon City Code and to repeal
Resolution No. 5861.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon does
hereby establish the rates for the sale of water in the City of

25.5, 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51 as follows:

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby declares that the applicable rates contained in this
resolution shall be effective for the first regular water

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
