A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE COMMUNITY
SERVICES DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION
2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
7 letter dated April 18, 1991, recommended to the Finance
8 Commi ttee that the property from the Community Services
9 Department more particularly described on the attached Exhibit
lO "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus
II to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete,
12 outdated and in poor and irreparable condition and are therefor
13 no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon; and
14
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,
15 has recommended that the said surplus property described in the
16 attached Exhibit "A" be disposed of by public auction; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
l8 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
19 Vernon that the property described in the attached Exhibit "A"
20 from the Community Services Department be sold as surplus
2l pursuant to Section 2.3l of the Vernon city Code.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
23 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1 :
That in accordance with Section 37350 of
25 the Government Code of the State of california, the City Council
26 of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
27 property described in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the
28 needs of the City of Vernon.

That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
SECTION 2:

hereby authorized to contract with an auction company for the
3
sale of the property described in the attached Exhibit "A" as
4
surplus property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
7
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
8
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 1991.
