RESOLUTION NO. 5930

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY-COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING HEALTH AND
ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL REGULATIONS FOR
OPERATION OF GARMENT MANUFACTURING
ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH HAVE BEEN ADOPTED BY
THE HEALTH OFFICER

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 996 was adopted by the City

Council of the City of Vernon on June 4, 1991; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 996 amended and added certain
sections dealing with Health and Sanitation; and
WHEREAS, section 13.22 of the Vernon City Code, as
amended, authorizes the health officer to adopt reasonable rules
and regulations governing businesses and vehicles specified in
Section 13.7 effective only after approval by the City Council
by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Norman J. MichielS, the health officer for the
City of Vernon, has adopted the Health and Environmental Control
Regulations for Operation of Garment Manufacturing
Establishments in order to clarify the requirements for
construction and maintenance of garment manufacturing

establishments, a copy of which Regulations has been submitted
to the City council concurrently herewith.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon

hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
25

hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves the adoption by the health officer of the Health

and Environmental Control Regulations for Operation of Garment
Manufacturing Establishments, a copy of which Regulations has

been presented to the City Council concurrently with this
resolutlon, and the City Council hereby orders said Regulations
to be received and filed by the City clerk.

The Health and Environmental Control
SECTION 3:

Regulations For Operation of Garment Manufacturing

Establishments shall be effective thirty (30) days after the
city Council adopts Ordinance No. 996.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of June, 1991.
